I noticed that the system of LOINC codes for many antimicrobial susceptibility tests are changed from “Isolate” to “Bld.pos growth”. Can someone clarify the reason for this change or point me to documentation that describes the reason, please. Google/LOINC website search did not return any pertinent results. Thank you!

Here’s my guess.
I think of an isolate as a specimen taken from a single colony on a culture plate – an isolated organism from the culture.
bld.pos growth is a specimen from the cloudy bottle after incubation, but before culturing for isolates.
It’s odd that we can’t find the information in the Knowledge Base. I know I’ve read it somewhere in the User Guide when it was downloadable with RELMA.
