We have a need to communicate the name of a surveillance program that testing is related to. There are no apparent fields in HL7 that communicate this at the visit level, although we might be able to use the Reason for Study field in OBR. In any case, I would be interested in suggestions on the proper way to format this LOINC code. THe program applies to specimens collected from a variety of sources, bothe patient related and environmental, the tests applied are equally varied and the methods used are specific to the specimen types. So there is not a lot of specificity other than the value that is associated represents the nameof a regulatory program.
