New content for LOINC-SNOMED identified by mapping to SPIA subsets

Hi,

Just wondering what the process is for suggesting new content for the next release of the LOINC-SNOMED extension.

I’ve done some analysis against the October 2025 version of RCPA SPIA reporting subset of LOINC, by Pathology discipline.

Pathology Discipline Mapped Unmapped
Chemical Pathology 642 45
Haematology / Transfusion Medicine 119 69
Immunopathology 203 135
Microbial Serology and PCR 501 81

There is good coverage of Chemical Pathology and Microbial serology/NAA.
Transfusion medicine and Immunology had significant gaps.
I am happy to share my results, which include the LOINC codes without a map to SNOMED CT Observables if that helps inform the next tranche of codes.

Hello Michael, we will route this feedback to the appropriate group. In the future, or if you’d like to expand upon this, you can submit feedback on the collaboration website at Feedback – LOINC / SNOMED CT .

That feedback form does not allow for attachments. My feedback would consist of:
Here are the gaps I found when comparing RCPA SPIA value sets to the LOINC-SNOMED ontology, and upload the map spreadsheets.

We would love to have the gaps you have identified. I will contact you via email and you can reply with the attachment(s).
