Is anyone working with the reagent manufacturers to supply LOINC codes on their package inserts?
This would definitely help Labs that have not implemeted LOINC coding into their systems.
There have been discussions over the past several years; although resistance due to difficult governance perception. The IIVD consortium is working from one angle. I believe Regenstrief has tried conversations with the FDA.
Some manufacturers (Abbott) post the LOINCs on the Users portion of their website.
