I was reviewing some of the allergy-related IgE codes and ran across LOINC code 7660-4. I’ve been unable to find what ‘rat muliialgro’ represents. Does anyone happen to know what this represents?
Hi Jeremy, From the LOINC code it looks like it is a very old concept. Searching in LOINC and references I honestly didn’t come across any relevant resource. I will check a little more and circle back. Thank you for your note.

There are no specific references to this term other than to LOINC. Without an allergen code it is difficult to know what this means but I did find this, “While “muliialgro” is an older or more technical term (sometimes used in international contexts to describe a specific mix or extract of rat-related allergens), this test is essentially checking for an allergic sensitivity to rats.” If this is the case then it probably refers to e87 Rat epithelium, serum proteins and urine proteins.
Hi Bruce, I appreciate very much your response and input to this LOINC. I will take it to the Lab committee, and decide on the next steps.
Thank you both for helping to clarify this.
