Hello,
Are you asking about a Platelet Count performed from specimen collected in a Sodium Citrate (light blue) tube? (See this Lab Compendium: https://tidalhealth.testcatalog.org/show/LAB301-1)
If so, LOINC doesn’t distinguish additives in blood collection tubes. Both EDTA and Sodium Citrate tubes have anticoagulants for the blood specimen type used for Platelet Counts from each of them. The same LOINC would be used whether the Platelet Count is performed on a slide from either tube.
Hello,
Thank you. That answers my question.
