HLA typing

 

<span style=“color: #172b4d; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI, Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Fira Sans, Droid Sans, Helvetica Neue, sans-serif;”><span style=“font-size: 14px;”>My question is regarding Organ Donation Transplant - Deceased Donation Minimum Data Set (ODT-DDMDS) that Canada is developing, The data element for HLA typing uses the LOINC code with the locus (e.g. https://loinc.org/38548-4/) whereas I would suggest the code with only the name with the general class (e.g. https://loinc.org/13298-5/) but I am not sure of the difference between the two codes.</span></span>

What is being used by those collecting this information with respect to Organ donation? </span>
