Our Lab also supplies LOINC codes with the results we supply.
The plans are required to exclude sensitive genetic testing results from their data pools.
CPT’s are generally not specific enough to be useful for this task.
Does a grouping list of LOINC codes exist for genetic testing?
If not, would the Regenstrief Institute be interested in creating such a group listing?
I think many healthcare insurance plans would be very happy to have one!
