Hi,

  • How are "Dengue virus", "Dengue virus 1+2+3+4", and "Dengue virus 1 and 2 and 3 and 4" differentiated from each other? Can one subsume the other(s)?
  • Why does the hierarchy list "Dengue virus 1+2+3+4" as siblings of "Dengue virus Ab" and "Dengue virus Ag" when it does not specify any detailed component (Ab/Ag/RNA)?
  • Why is there "Dengue virus DNA" when dengue virus is an RNA virus?

In addition:

  • Why is it that "Dengue virus 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 RNA" (CSF) uses ampersands (&) but "Dengue virus 1+2+3+4 RNA" (Ser) uses plus signs (+)?
(Noted that "&" indicates analytes measured separately while "+" indicates analytes measured as one quantity) (Also noted that the CSF test has a property of "Threshold" while the Ser test has a property of "ACnc")

Dengue virus is the cause of dengue fever. It is a mosquito-borne single positive-stranded RNA virus of the family Flaviviridae; genus Flavivirus.
