CPT code a percutaneous skin test with 95004 (*Percutaneous tests [scratch, puncture, prick]

Hi all

i need to link this CPT code a percutaneous skin test with 95004 (Percutaneous tests [scratch, puncture, prick] with allergenic extracts, immediate type reaction, including test interpretation and report, specify number of tests )

what is the LONIC code to map this CPT code ??

Note: we didn’t need the document codes
Thanks in advance

Hello Salah, Welcome to the Forum. Apologies for the delay in a response. This situation is one of my favorites to explain why there aren’t 1:1 mappings between LOINC and CPT. LOINC is intended to convey the information of WHICH allergenic extract was being tested. The current contents of CLASS:ALLERGY contains serum measurements of allergens. CPT is intended to record the work required to obtain a measurement, and is used in reimbursement use cases.

Scratch testing is performed by an allergist/immunologist in their office and would not be part of a laboratory-department report. The document codes would probably be your best option. Examine how the report is conveyed to the EHR, to determine how granular the report may be.

Let me know if you have other questions,
Thank you,
Pam
