Component Ulmus pumila and Long Common name Chinese elm

While researching this genus and species it appears that Ulmus pumila best represents the common name Siberian elm and is commonly inappropriately called Chinese elm. The Chinese elm’s genus and species appears to be best represented as Ulmus parvifolia. What is the most appropriate way to view this component?

Hi Jeremy! It’s been 10-15 years since enriched linkages were created to LOINC Parts, tying parts of CHeBI, NCBI, and other national scientific databases. You can read a portion of it in the knowledge base under https://loinc.org/kb/enriched-linkages-between-loinc-terms-and-loinc-parts . It does appear some of the links in that page didn’t cross over with our new website in 2026. I’ll tag @timbriscoe in here to check those links. If you don’t find the correct accessory table, or find an error or need further clarification, please reply in here. Thank you! Pam

@pdbanning Thanks for bringing to my attention. The FHIR property URIs shown in this documentation now resolve to loinc.org/property for reference.
