I want to differentiate the B antibody that is found in a serum specimen on a ‘regular’ patient (they may have aquired the anti-b in a variety of ways) from the anti-b that is found in a new born specimen and was aquired from the mother. In this case, it is not the baby’s anti-b really, but the mother’s.
I don’t think there is a LOINC that reflects this. How are labs differentiating the maternal anti-b and other similar maternal antibodies found in the baby?
Thanks for the help,
Lorie Carey
