With LOINC 2.24, a new method of “computer assisted” was introduced. Can you include a recap here of the differences between “automated count” method and “computer assisted” method for us? Are certain defaults to be taken if it’s a particular manufacturer?

For the things like erythrocytes, bacteria & hyaline casts that the instrument identifies, you would map to “automated count” for Naric & NCnc and “automated” for ordinals. When the instrument flags an element & the technologist makes the final identification, then you would map to “computer assisted”. I don’t think that any the terms with method = “computer assisted” will also have “automated” or “automated count” as well.
