72093-8 and Other HOOS - Term Description Inaccurate?

Hi,

The term description listed on the published code page (version 2.78) located here:
https://loinc.org/72093-8/ contains this content:

QoL = Knee-related Quality of Life. This score is calculated based on the answers to questions Q1-Q4 and reported on a scale 0-100, with 0 and 100 indicating extreme difficulty and no difficulty, respectively. [http://www.koos.nu]

I believe this to be incorrect. The Long Common Name field is “Quality of life score [HOOS]”, which I believe refers to the Hip dysfunction and osteoarthritis outcome score, not the knee (koos)

I think there are similar issues with a few other sub-scales of HOOS

72097-9
72094-6
72096-1

(unable to link as a new user)

(all list www.koos.nu in the term description, which I assume is from KOOS, the website itself didn’t load for me)

Hope this helps!

Thank you,
Nathan

Hello, Nathan. Thank you for bringing these to our attention. I have asked our terminology team to review and address the issues.

Hi Nathan, We appreciate you bringing this item to our attention. I agree with your assumption that these concepts are sub-scales related to Hip Dysfunction, and not to the knee. Are you looking for similar concepts related specifically to the knee? If yes, please submit through our submission process if you don’t find what you are looking for. Meanwhile We will revisit this panel and the related subscales to make them more reflective of what the panel is intended to be. Thank you much Eza
