Is anyone using Reagent Lot number ( LOINC 43156-9 Reagent Lot number ) in their Laboratory (LIS) or clinical Information system (CIS)? In Labs we regularly check the packaging for information on the reagent stability, as all reagents have a finite shelf life. Reagents that do not have an expiration date printed on the packaging will have a lot code. The lot code indicates the date on which the reagent was manufactured. The expiration date for the chemical can be established by utilizing this information.
