# Umbilical Cord Tissue Drug testing

Hi. We have qualitative drug monitoring testing on umbilical cord tissue. Mass Spec. Not seeing any LOINCs for these other than Screen methods. We are not confirming. Would the Screen LOINCs be appropriate to assign or would it be best to request new? ( I used the Methodless codes for the Meconium testing.)

Hi Kimberly! We have 85 TissCo drugs by Mass Spec in the submission queue already, as part of the Drug/Tox overhaul. I’m doing the QA on the submission as we speak, unsure if it will make the August release. The methodless terms are also in the submission, so options will look better for you. With these changes, the Screen and Confirm terms will be discouraged when the new terms are activated. I will leave it to your discretion/bandwidth on the process you want to take.
