# Term request timeline

What are the usual term request processing timelines? I see that there is a lot of variation with some requests being processed in under a week and others taking years. At which point should I give up waiting and go with different solutions? Would appreciate any advice.

Hello @aostropolets . I would encourage you to stay in touch with the HDS team on any submissions you make. Sometimes submissions have taken too long because submitters have changed jobs and are no longer reading that email address. Make sure your submission is the best possible communication. Do you have one in the queue now that is taking longer? What is the ID number?
