# MCV Short Name Change

In a previous post, I was informed by Steven Wagers that what I pointed out below was an error that would need to be addressed. Can you please advise if there is a timeframe for this fix and if there is any way that I can receive notification when the change is made? Thank you for your time and assistance!

In LOINC code Version 2.79 (NAM), the short name is “RBC Auto." It is also noted that “the change reason Changed Short Name from ‘Erythrocyte mean corpuscular volume’ to ‘MCV’ for succinctness,” but MCV was not put in the short name description. Can you please advise as to the reasoning? Thank you!
