Upcoming Regional LOINC training sessions offered by LIC

The Laboratory Interoperability Cooperative (LIC) is offering Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) Laboratory LOINC® Mapping Guidance educational workshops in several states, including Mississippi, Colorado, Florida, and Nebraska.



The LIC is a grant-funded initiative to recruit, educate and connect hospitals to their related public health agency by providing the necessary technical assistance to enable hospital labs to become meaningful users of certified Electronic Health Records (EHR) technology for submission of electronic data on reportable laboratory results to public health agencies.



Regional LOINC training sessions are being planned across the country. The upcoming schedule is as follows:

•April 17, 2012 – LOINC Workshop – Madison, MS

•April 18, 2012 – LOINC Workshop – Tupelo, MS

•May 11, 2012 – LOINC Workshop – Denver, CO

•May 20, 2012 – Soft Network Users Group (SNUG) Annual Conference – LOINC Workshop pre-conference workshop, Clearwater FL

•May 31, 2012 - LOINC Workshop – Glenwood Springs, Colorado

•June 6, 2012 – 2012 CSTE Annual Conference, Omaha, Nebraska. Roundtable presentation – Lab Interoperability Cooperative: Advancing Electronic Laboratory Reporting through collaborative efforts between hospitals, vendor systems, information exchanges, and public health.



Workshop dates for Florida, Texas and Tennessee will be announced soon. Other areas are currently in development.
